Suman from Batangas

Last Sunday, Kuya Arcel gave us some pieces of suman. It is home-made from his cousin in Batangas. My kiddo liked it. He loves Filipino delicacies "native kakanin" (mana kay Dada mahilig din sa kakanin!). Earlier today, he gave us some again.

Suman from Batangas, to what I know of, is made of glutinous rice wrapped in young banana leaves then cooked in lots of coconut cream "gata". When eating this kind of suman, usually, it is dipped in white sugar, just like my kiddo did but I prefer to just eat it, the way it is! (",)

my children love this suman. we are from bauan, batangas and when we came back to the states in 2005, the suman was the heaviest of our load. i brought some to work. i just put it on the table and in a blink of an eye, it was gone.

Eh..Ehh ganyan talaga suman sa amin sa Batangas..matabang pero masarap. Isasawsaw laang sa asukal o sa mainit na kapeng barako..
