Pacquiao Smashed Diaz!!!
Manny Pacquiao won over David Diaz. Literally, he smashed the face of Diaz. Diaz suffered several cuts on his face. It was a 9th round knock-out! From Super Featherweight Champion, he is now the WBC Lightweight Division Champion. Making him the 9th boxer in the world, first in Asia, that garnered a quadruple world title champion. Grabe, galing talaga ng pinoy! (",) Click here to see.

Photo Hunt 114 "Emotion"
Taken two years ago at the rink, my Lil'One was crying after the incident of diving on the ice. He scratched half of his face as you can see in the photo. No one to blame because it was his fault. He can't seem to stop goofing around.... so malikot and makulit! You know kids... they will never stop until they get hurt...

The Hoops School

My kiddo has been attending the basketball summer clinic, The Hoops School, in their school. It was only today I accompanied him. And to my surprise, though short in height, he's good at shooting and defending the ball. As you may know, I don't like basketball, can't even understand the game. But I want to be supportive in whatever endeavor he wants to engage with. That's why, when he told me he wanted to join the basketball summer clinic. I said, yes. One more thing, look at the pictures, he is the only one wearing jogging pants instead of shorts. though, he's a boy, I don't want him to scratch his knee or legs and get scars, hehe! I don't mind how many jogging pants he reaps off or tear apart because he is so hyperactive just as long he does not have scars (",)

A Sad Friday For My Kid
We've been at the rink almost everyday for the past 2-3 weeks. Getting ready for the qualifying exam so my kid will be able to join the Grand Pix Competition next month. Yesterday, February 8 was his schedule for that. To make the story short, my kiddo wasn't able to pass the test. His combination jumps didn't make it and weren't done properly (sablay baga!). I'm kind of sad too for him.... but that's that! There's always a next time. At least now, it's a lesson for my kid that he has to take seriously whatever his coach tells him. Always practice and not play at the rink.
That's not the sad part, failing the exam. The sad part is he doesn't like to skate anymore, even go to the rink. Maybe, he needs time to accept and process what happened. I'll just let him be.... hopefully everything will go back to normal. As of now, he just likes to play with his PSP.

Wordless Wednesday #3

We visit the ice rink at SM-Southmall five times a week to have my kid's skating lesson and practice after he attends school in the morning. Honestly, it's very tiring but that wouldn't stop me to support my child's passion, that is figure skating.
That's my kid doing his sit spin. It needs more polishing and practice in doing that maneuver but I know soon he'll be able to perfect it. When my Little One sets his mind and focus in doing a thing, for sure, he will never stop until he gets it or does it properly (",)

Elite Blades Figure Skating Club Christmas Party 2007
This was the Christmas Party we attended last night. It should have started at 8 pm but you know how Filipinos are... it started at around 9.30 pm. Tita Ching was a great host. She was able to make the coaches dance one at a time, looking silly, hehe! The kids had a blast playing games. The food brought in was overflowing... yum-yum! We had a great time and our tummy too! They even made us bring home some of the "Lechon". Tomorrow, I'm going to make "Paksiw na Lechon" out of that! (",)

Shoot for QTV Review Philippines (World Class Pinoy)
Last month, Karl emailed me, they wanted to feature my leftover makeover recipes for the episode "Basura" of 100% Pinoy of GMA 7. To make the long story short, for I am not good in writing, I agreed. They went in our place. I had a cooking demo and one on one interview. While doing so, my kid made them watched his recent skating competition which was "Skate Asia '07". It was an international ice skating competition and our first time, the Philippines, to host such an event. Then, no cam, JC, the segment producer asked me, if I will allow my kid to be featured in World Class Pinoy. A segment of Review Philippines of QTV Channel 11. I said, "why not?" just as long my kid will agree also. After almost a month, JC texted me. And let the pictures tell you the story....We don't know yet when will this be shown, maybe this coming Sunday or the next. All I know is "Review Philippines" is aired during Sundays at 11 pm at Channel 11 QTV. I'm still waiting for JC's confirmation.

SM- Summer Skate Manila 2007

Last week, May 15-18, my son joined the "SUMMER SKATE MANILA 2007" held in SM-Mall of Asia. Out of 6 events he joined, he got 5 gold and 1 bronze medals.
GOLD
- Delta; Solo Program (Technical)
- Solo Spotlight (Light Entertainment)
- Couple Spotlight (Light Entertainment)
- Stroking
- Surprise
BRONZE
- Speedracing

My son's skating club (ELITE BLADES SKATING CLUB) & home rink (SM-SOUTHMALL ICE RINK) got the "Over-all Team Champion" for garnering the highest points and having the highest numbers of members joining the said competition.
Now, my little one is busy and having a great time with his swimming lessons everyday. But still, 2-3 times a week, he's still at the rink polishing his skating. He's getting ready for the upcoming international competition, "SKATE ASIA 2007" in August. It will be held here in the Philippines at SM- Mall of Asia. Our first time to host an international ice skating competition.
